Wellness is a journey, not a destination.
Howdy, I’m Madison.
The Beginning.
They say your calling is where your passion meets your purpose. Growing up on the family farm in Bucks County PA, I found my passion for horsemanship at a young age. That passion progressed to a competitive USEF junior career embellished by grooming, serving as a working student and the generous guidance of some of my role models in the industry. This labor of love was fueled by my passion for the animals, competitive spirit and consistent drive to improve. Years of ribbons, style awards and long horse show days were made “back at the barn” where I had the unique opportunity of riding and caring for all levels of horse. I quickly became known as the “kid” who would ride anything from Holland to New Holland - just happy to be in the saddle and working with the horses. Every horse has always been an opportunity for me to listen and learn!
The Middle.
While pursuing my degree at Drexel University, I had the pleasure of joining the Drexel University Equestrian Team (IHSA), where I was regularly elected as Point Rider and worked grooming and schooling horses for both trainers during my time there, Sarah Berkowitz and Beth Orem. Shortly after graduation, I accepted a seat on the Board of Directors of Philadelphia-based nonprofit, Northwestern Stables.

In 2018, I took a pause from the corporate world to manage another Philadelphia-based nonprofit, Monastery Stables, where I cared for 23 horses (and one donkey!) daily and developed Monastery’s training program. With the majority of the horses being seniors, my primary training focus was proper biomechanics and engagement to promote comfort and longevity.
The Here and Now.
Having grown a deeper appreciation for the benefits of holistic equine wellness as a preventive measure in addition to reactive care, I was driven to expand my knowledge and completed my certification in Equine Sports Massage from Delaware Valley University, where I’ve happily returned as a Teacher’s Assistant for multiple classes. I have also become a certified practitioner in Magnawave’s PEMF therapy, multi discipline horse show judge and continue to invest in additional learning opportunities.
All of this, combined with a lifetime of horsemanship, a strong competitive record up and down the east coast, and a little sweat has positioned me to uniquely support you and your horses needs.

“
Madison is the best!!!! She is so knowledgeable about all aspects of the horse world and she helped my horse relax after a stressful move. I was expecting my mare to put up a fight during her massage because she doesn’t always love to be touched but Madison was able to get her so relaxed.

“
Madison is extremely professional and truly devoted to her craft. I have never seen any other treatment have such an amazing, immediate and transforming effect on my horse as Madison’s massages. She takes her time massaging from pole to tail, then checks the horse for improvement and then focuses in where attention is still needed. My horse may start out stiff but after the massage he moves so easily and gracefully. Madison is always very responsive and when emergency situations arise she goes out of her way to come out and take care of my horse. I can’t thank her enough for the amazing service she provides!

I attended a pony yoga clinic and it was a great time. My pony enjoyed it so much. She was yawning the whole time. Totally relaxed. It was a great bonding experience for us I highly recommend it.

Lucky Horse Wellness provides a holistic approach to horse training that I appreciate. Care is taken to provide slow, steady training of my horse with thought given to her individual needs. This approach is benefiting Goldie both physically and mentally. Riding lessons are challenging and educational. I leave lessons understanding the work I need to do while feeling positive about myself and my partnership with Goldie.

“
I’ve known Madison for a couple years now and have had the pleasure of working with her when I purchased my first horse and now with my second horse. I’m a nervous rider and Madison is great at getting me refocused to calmly ride through whatever issue I’m having. She works extremely well with my boss mare, her firm but gentle approach to keeping my horse mentally and physically engaged is working amazingly well. My Rosie girl is becoming a more well rounded and relaxed horse and I’m becoming a more confident rider.
